Bureau is a furniture and design company specializing in workspace fit-outs and made-to-order furnishings. We believe that modern workspaces are decidedly unmodern, fixed on out-of-touch, catalogue cliche notions on what it means to make deep and meaningful work. Utilising data and technology, we design spaces that flex and modulate to the ever-changing, often abstract needs and behaviours of its people, furnishing businesses with the tools they need to shape workspaces that work.

The Story of Bureau

Before there was Bureau, there were two teams on opposite sides of the world asking the same question:
How are people supposed to do deep, meaningful work in environments designed for constant interruption?

In Australia, Tyson and Adam had founded Bureau Booths in 2019. What started as a solution for the home office quickly evolved into a broader, modular system for modern workplaces—focused on flexibility, human-centered design, and creating environments people actually want to work in.

Meanwhile, in Canada, Inbox Booths was launched in 2021 by long-time friends and business partners Reuben and Scot. Their mission was a direct response to the noise, distractions, and focus-killing flaws of open-plan offices. They saw the toll it took on productivity and morale and decided to build something better: versatile work and meeting spaces designed for real work, not just appearances.

In late 2022, the two founding teams discovered each other through a bit of competitive research (and a shared manufacturer). Curious, they began meeting regularly—trading insights, challenges, and visions for the future of work. Respect was immediate. And soon, so was alignment on a shared set of values, goals, and product philosophy.

Then, in July 2023, they met in person for the first time. Five days later, they left as partners—committed to building something bigger together.

By 2024, the two companies officially merged under one name and one vision: To help businesses everywhere build better spaces for better work.

Now known simply as Bureau, we design and deliver modular booths and workspace solutions that inspire deep focus, real collaboration, and more productive work—across North America, the UK, and Australia.
