Huddle Room

A huddle room is a small, enclosed meeting space designed for groups of two to six people. Built for quick, impromptu collaboration rather than formal boardroom presentations, huddle rooms typically include basic AV equipment, seating, and acoustic treatment to support clear conversation without disturbing the surrounding open office.

Why Huddle Rooms Deliver More Value Per Square Foot Than Conference Rooms

Conference rooms are built for big meetings that need a projector and catering. But most of what actually happens in an office — the quick decision, the project check-in, the spontaneous brainstorm — doesn’t need a room that seats twenty.

Huddle rooms fill that everyday need. They’re small enough to book on five minutes’ notice, intimate enough that people actually talk rather than stare at slides, and discrete enough to pull a few people off the floor without disrupting everyone else.

The acoustic design of a huddle room matters more than most people realize. A room that looks good but leaks sound into the hallway undermines the whole point. Employees won’t feel comfortable having candid conversations if they know the team nearby can hear everything. And in open office environments, even moderate sound bleed can disrupt focus for a dozen people at once.

Modern huddle rooms, particularly modular options, are built with this in mind. Acoustic panels, proper sealing at doors and walls, and integrated ventilation all work together to create a space that sounds as good as it looks.

As hybrid work becomes the norm, huddle rooms are often more valuable per square foot than traditional conference rooms. They support the quick, human conversations that don’t translate well to video calls.
